Daily Art Winter Themes
Not surprisingly, most of the prompts this month have had a winter or Christmas-related theme, and it’s been fun to play with new ideas, though admittedly I haven’t been completely happy with all the results. But that’s part and parcel of the explorations I’ve been going through, and eventually I will, hopefully, settle into a rhythm and style that I’m comfortable with yet keeps me challenged and wandering —a lot!—into new territory. Meanwhile however, here are the latest pieces I’ve enjoyed splashing around with …
You’ll notice below that there are two versions of the Christmas Ornaments prompt. That’s because I really didn’t like the first one and so redid it into my bullet journal and posted that instead … I’m uploading both versions here because I wanted to remind myself that mistakes are a normal and even essential part of the learning process and that I’m constantly learning!
I missed quite a few days of prompts as we’ve been hugely busy reviewing and planning for the coming year, finally finding our footing in the business and preparing for some wonderful changes in 2019 … more on that very soon. Meanwhle, above, I managed to squeeze a few prompts into one piece. I’m not tremendously happy with the end result but I had a great time painting, which is always satisfying enough for me.
Art prompts are all either from the Daily Creating Group (facebook), or Sketchbook Skool or both, depending on how ‘flowy’ my creative mind is on that particular day. Please do follow me on Instagram if you prefer daily updates: @floatinglemonsart
I love knowing what supplies other artists use, so if you’d like a peek at what I use on a regular basis, I’ve listed them all on my new SUPPLIES page (which will be updated with images soon). Cheers.
