Flowers in Greys (and Oranges)

Exploring the range of greys -- mixed with greens and blues, and playing with layering. I'll be doing more of these soon I think, as I love the idea of layers hidden behind more layers yet still peeking through, it's quite brilliant.

Mixing blues with greys and just allowing the brush to fall where it wished to, was a pleasure. I'd never really considered grey a colour on its own before, and now I love it. Adding a teeny bit of any other colour to it changes the whole piece quite dramatically ... and I want to paint more with it. It's a wonderful neutral that can be altered to fit light and dark moods. Lots of lovely experiments to look forward to. Cheers.
