Happy New Year 2019!
I’m exhausted! I’ve been working to deadlines and to be honest all I’d like to do tonight is take a break from everything and put my feet up and just breathe … and I might end up doing just that, especially as I have the sniffles and my body (and what’s left of my brain cells!) is telling me to pause for a bit.
And yet I’m in an annoyingly good mood — perhaps because I’d intended writing a review here of all the huge changes this past year that have set me in a different, more fulfilling, satisfying and meaningful (what a lot of words to say the same thing!) direction, only to realise how true it all is and how far I’ve come in what seems such a short space of time.
It hasn’t all been good … I lost my second four-legged companion, Bertha, who spirited herself away to join her sister Bella in doggie heaven, and left me feeling quite small in an empty home. But I also gained an amazing business partner-in-crime who thinks along similar lines as I do (read her end-of-the-year blogpost HERE) and we’ve set the business into motion and headed in a new direction that will eventually reflect the intentions we have of living more conscious, slow and appreciative lives. My art is evolving and changing and although I’m still searching for that elusive ‘style stamp’, I’m loving every bit of the exploratory journey.
We’re still learning, everything (including ourselves) is a work-in-progress. But it finally feels right and that’s more than enough to make me feel that everything is now touched by magic. We’ll share our blundering progress, mistakes and all, this coming year. Meanwhile, we’re enjoying the cracks that make our simply imperfect lives beautiful.
Wishing all of you a creative and magical New Year 2019!
