I love the lotus flower, it’s shape, colours and symbolism … so why oh why am I finding it so difficult to paint a simple, lovely, lotus flower?! As you can see I’ve tried several times and so far am not happy with any of the results and want to scrap them all and try again … which I really might do quite soon! Here thay are a bit closer-up:

What do you think? I’m actually trying to pick one to use for a friend’s absolutely amazing charity (more on that once I actually select a lotus for it!) so perhaps I’m placing too much stress on something that’s just not that complicated?
